Mike (PE instructor) from Ohio: "The kids were playing softball in my class and the school had "recommended" athletic supporters to all guys in PE but hardly anyone wore them. A girl who was on the softball team hit the ball right into the first basemen's groin. He went down immediately and felt nausea and extreme pain. He couldn't get up for ten minutes. It turns out he had football practice immediately after class and had changed into his cup beforehand luckily. That had saved him and his manhood. The cup he later told me was completely cracked down the middle. He sat out the rest of the week in gym class and football due to soreness but no permanent damage was done. The girl ended up buying him a new cup as well and now we have mandatory use of athletic cups for certain sports in PE."
